Johanna Grawunder

Johanna Grawunder, born in 1961, is an American architect and lighting designer known for diverse projects, including large-scale installations and limited edition furniture. Collaborating with companies like Flos, Boffi, and Glas Italia, her notable works include designing the restaurant Robert in NYC’s Museum of Arts and Design and a lighting installation at the Luxembourg Freeport. After starting her career at California Polytechnic State University, she joined Sottsass Associati in 1985, becoming a partner in 1989. In 2001, she founded her studio, focusing on lighting collections and global design projects.
