Born in Munich in 1965, Konstantin Grcic has a rich artistic heritage, with a Serbian father and German mother. Growing up in Wuppertal, surrounded by his father’s collection of 18th-century art, he developed a passion for building things and restoring furniture during high school. His formal education began with cabinetry making in the Arts and Crafts tradition at the John Makepeace School for Craftsmen in Wood. Later, in 1988, he pursued graduate studies in Industrial Design at the Royal College of Art in London. Grcic’s formative years included collaboration with British designer Jasper Morrison and designing furniture for SCP in London, influencing the development of his distinctive style.
