Tobia Scarpa, born in Venice in 1935, graduated in architecture and, with his wife Afra Bianchin (1937-2011), established a highly successful design studio. In 1970, he was honored with the Compasso d’Oro, sparking significant interest in his work. Notably, he designed the Coronado sofa (1966) for B&B Italia and a collection of furniture with precious materials for Maxalto. Scarpa contributed to the image of Benetton stores globally and engaged in architectural projects, including the Benetton production-management center and headquarters in Treviso. His portfolio extends to private residences, restoration projects for historical assets, and the curation of permanent and temporary exhibitions.
