Marcel Wanders, born on July 2, 1963, in Boxtel, is a Dutch designer and art director known for his innovative work in architecture, interiors, and industrial projects. Graduating cum laude in 1988, he opened his Amsterdam studio in 2000 and co-founded Moooi in 2001. Famous for the Knotted Chair, Wanders is often dubbed “the Lady Gaga of the design world.” His Powerhouse studio, with around 50 international design specialists, has completed 1700+ projects for brands like Alessi, Louis Vuitton, and Bacarrat.
