Coordinates is a lighting system with diffuse light composed of horizontal and vertical luminaries arranged in a bright grid of various shapes and complexities. Each element is mad e of extruded anodized aluminium with a champagne finish and a diffuser in platinum optical silicone with an integrated LED strip (CRI 95). Each element is powered and supported by an invisible electrical and mechanical connection designed specifically to allow for the composition of the 3 ceiling models (C1 – C2 – C4), which may be combined with the respective Long versions for the highest ceilings (C1 Long, C2 Long, C4 Long). The ‘C Module’ is also available. Its geometry was designed to be repeated to create large grids for custom installations. Each Coordinates configuration includes its own ceiling rose, whose integrated electronics allow for the use of different dimmer systems: push, 1-10, DALI. In the absence of these systems, the amount of light can be set during installation with the push system included in the rose. The related Cl III version is also available for each configuration for installations with a remote power supply.

Michael Anastassiades is a Cypriot-born, London-based designer whose practice encompasses product, spatial interventions and experimental works, often transcending the distinctions between different fields of creativity. His work draws inspiration from many sources, which he distills into pure, simple structures. From nature to archaic references of his native Cyprus, the history of Modernism, very personal memories, art and everyday life, he transforms a rich set of diverse references into a timeless vocabulary of form and structure.
The company was founded in 1962 by Dino and Cesare Cassina in Merano, Italy. The brand started out as a laboratory for designers and architects, seeking to innovate the lighting industry. In order to retain this philosophy, the company moved to Brescia, where the new headquarters were used as a think tank for new designs and ideas. In 1963, Sergio Gandini became managing director of the firm and would prove to be a crucial personality in FLOS’ history.
It took no more than a few years for FLOS to position themselves as the most innovative and revolutionary Italian lighting brand and after numerous products became part of the Italian exhibition at Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1972, FLOS became internationally renowned.
