Don Quixote bends and tilts, turns and elongates. Inspired by the mobility of a soldering tool, Ingo Maurer designed Don Quixote at the end of the 1980s. This table or wall lamp breaks away from strict design principles and is one of Ingo Maurer’s favourite designs.

Ingo Maurer (1932–2019) was a pioneering German lighting designer, renowned for over 700 fixtures, including iconic pieces like the Bulb lamp and Hearts Attack. His studio, Design M, founded in the ’60s, continued to produce innovative designs, embracing simplicity and experimentation with materials like plastic and aluminum. Maurer’s works, characterized by playful and ironic elements, extend beyond lamp design to captivating light installations. His contributions earned him accolades, such as the German Design Award in 2010 and the Compasso d’Oro Career Award in 2011. Maurer’s legacy endures through his studio’s ongoing work.
