Five Pack by Axel Schmid for Ingo Maurer consists of five reflectors that look like bowls stacked on top of one another. When all five bowls are pushed neatly together, the light is directed downwards. However, if you pull the uppermost reflector upwards at the handle, the five bowls “fan out”. The light is then able to escape sideways between them. With the help of the handle, the user can adapt and adjust the lighting mood through infinite variations.
The inside of the top four reflectors is painted yellow. The bottom one is white on the inside. At the openings around the bowls, yellow-white light shines on the outside of the bowl below.

Axel Schmid, born in 1971, completed his studies in woodworking and metalworking before attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, where he graduated in 1997. Supported by a grant from the German Association of Industrial Designers, he spent a year in Japan. He later worked for lighting designer Ingo Maurer in Munich.
Ingo Maurer started to design exceptional lamps, lighting systems and objects beginning in the middle of the 1960s, which his company produces and distributes worldwide. This is why we can realize our ideas without compromises.
